I present my review of the following book:
Winning Chess Openings: 2nd Edition (Learn 25 Essential Opening Strategies Today!)
By Bill Robertie, Publisher:Cardoza
Very readable with sufficient diagrams to follow the explainations. Book introduces twentyfive openings. The chapter on double king-pawn openings presents nine variations then is followed by a full chapter regarding the Ruy Lopez. The chapter on Black Half-Open Defences includes five variations. Queen's Gambit and Indian Defences each introduce three variations. The author presents general advantages and disadvantages for each opening from black and white perspectives. He then presents a move by move commentary. Book is only $9.95 and for a beginner well woth the price.
