Came across this endgame recently. General principles state that for R vs 2 pawns if the two pawns are connected and have not reached the 6th rank then the rook usually wins. If the 2 pawns are on the 6th rank then it is drawn, if one of the pawns is on the 7th rank and the other on the 6th or 7th rank then the pawns win.
Despite these general principles, in this game black has just played Kc4-d4 and white to play and draw. [The black pawns are moving downwards]. This is not difficult but I was amazed that white can draw.
