REGARDS,
STEPHEN.

You could have played some blitz chess at the recent Chessworld social. I played loads of five minute games - a few against an International Master - Mike Basman. I managed to win one game but then lost the next three!

When I play blitz online I expect a default set of features - handling disconnections, handling speeds up to 1 minute chess, etc. Having hundreds of opponents to choose from. Anything less is not really "blitz" but rather a sad unattended chat room with chess boards. To build up such a quality environment would take months or even years to implement - if you want quality blitz, then go to a dedicated blitz server such as the ICC.

We may be having at least two socials in London next year - so creating more opportunities for real-life blitz chess against other members of the site. Hopefully socials in other countries are also organised - creating even more opportunities for Over-the-board blitz chess.
