Welcoming newcomers

The only problem i have is that most of the newbies i welcome never accept the game invite, some play and leave as they dont like the correspondence system, only few would stay in the site as a guest member, and even fewer to get full members?! Sometimes i wait all day for a newcomer, no one comes, sometimes when i am busy with 20+ games, there are alot! Thats the problem, but i guess i will have to deal with it.
Any suggestion to making 'welcoming newcomers' better?

Best wishes

it can be well it is frustrating to start a game with a newcomer only to wait and wait and wait until you realise they are not coming back! A lot just don't seem to understand what they are doing but the previous comment is right you just have to continue to be friendly. If they are genuinely interested in playing they will make the effort to look the site over and find it all out for themselves. I think my welcomer allowed me to do this but was there if I needed him. Some do seem to be put off by comments, even a simple hello. Perhaps they don't realise there is a person on the other side of the board!

As with all websites you can't make people visit andor pay for something. Just keep being friendly
